Nancy Jones, the widow of the late George Jones, is reaching out to the public for prayers and support for her daughter, Adina, who recently experienced a traumatic lawnmower accident. Nancy shared her request on Georgeโs official Facebook page, seeking comfort and strength during this challenging time.
Nancy provided an update on Adinaโs condition, detailing the treatment she has undergone, including surgery:
โOn September 28th, Adina underwent surgery to thoroughly cleanse the wound. Sadly, she lost her heel bone and pad completely. Tomorrow, we will meet with the surgeon to discuss Adinaโs options in more detail.โ
Whatโs Next for Adina?
Nancy outlined two options that Adina is currently considering:
โ1. Adina can undergo multiple surgeries to reconstruct her heel using tissue from other parts of her body. However, due to the extensive damage and missing parts, walking on it may never be possible again.
Adina can explore the possibility of amputation and learning to walk with a prosthetic foot.โ
Nancy concluded her post with a heartfelt plea:
โPlease keep my sweet baby girl in your prayers. We are in desperate need of all the support we can get.โ
The response from the community has been overwhelming, with over two thousand people offering their well-wishes and messages of support.
The Love Story of George and Nancy Jones
In 1983, George Jones married Nancy Sepulvado, forever changing the course of his life and career. The impact Nancy had on George was immeasurable. In his 1996 autobiography, โI Lived to Tell it All,โ George expressed his gratitude for Nancyโs love and how she saved him:
โNo teenage boy ever fell harder for a girl than I fell for Nancy Sepulvado. When I met my future wife on a blind date in November 1981, I had no idea that someday she would save my lifeโฆ They say love can change the world. Iโm here to testify that it changed one man. Friends, family, doctors, therapists, and ministers had tried to save me, but to no avail. But finally, the power of love from one woman, Nancy Jones, made the difference.โ
George and Nancy enjoyed a remarkable 30-year marriage until his passing in 2013 at the age of 81. Nancy fondly remembers their final words in a conversation with The Tennessean:
โGeorge said, โWell, hello there.โ He said, โIโve been looking for you.โ He said, โMy nameโs George Jones.โ And he was gone. He closed his eyes, and that was the end of it.โ
