Kate Middleton revealed she has cancer.
In a sad video message on Friday, the Princess of Wales shared the news.
Middleton said that when she had surgery on her abdomen, doctors thought her condition wasn’t dangerous, but tests done after the surgery showed that it was.
Kate, 42, said in the video, “This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family. As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment.”
The type of cancer Middleton has not been revealed, but she did say that she began “preventative chemotherapy” in February.
