A surprise that many might not have anticipated was included in Denzel Washingtonโs recent announcement of a number of new projects.
After finishing a last slate of movies, Denzel Washington, 69, is getting ready to leave Hollywood, marking the end of a decades-long career.
โI donโt know how many more films Iโm going to make,โย Washington said in an interview with Australiaโs Today show,ย โProbably not that many.โ
One of his next projects is to play Othello again, a part he first performed at the age of 22.
โIโm about to play Othello at 70,โย the two-time Academy Award winner disclosed.
In addition, he has made references to working with Ryan Coogler, who is supposedly developing a part for him in the upcoming Black Panther movie, and Steve McQueen.
Washington teased,ย โAfter that, I am going to retire,โย after mentioning ventures like King Lear.
The made-for-television movie Wilma launched Washingtonโs career in 1977.
Carbon Copy, his feature debut, came out in 1981. Since then, he has established himself as one of Hollywoodโs most admired performers, thanks to his iconic roles in movies like Malcolm X, Training Day, and Glory.
His work has continuously demonstrated his talent and enthusiasm, garnering him a great deal of praise and awards.
The actor stated,ย โThere are very few films left for me to make that Iโm interested in, and I have to be inspired by the filmmaker.โย
Washington revealed earlier this year that he wanted to be a part of Gladiator II.
