We will never be the same after Stephen Hawking, a famous theoretical physicist, changed the way we think about the world. People are still interested in and debating what he said about God, religion, and the afterlife. Hawking’s ideas on these tough issues were shaped by his background in math and his desire to use physical laws to understand the world.
Hawking suggested in his book “The Grand Design,” which he wrote with Leonard Mlodinow, that physics, not a god, was in charge of making the world. He said that the laws of gravity could have made the world appear out of nothing. This idea went against what people usually think about how the world was made and what a higher power should do.
It was clear that Hawking didn’t believe in God when he said, “No one created the universe or controls our destiny.” He thought that the idea of a future was also just wishful thinking that was not backed up by science. Hawking understood other people’s beliefs and did not try to change them. He said, “We’re free to believe what we want…” I think that the easiest answer is that there is no God.
Even though Hawking had different ideas, his scientific work has changed the way we think about the world. Through his work, he got us to think about what we think we know about God and the future. Hawking’s work continues to motivate us to learn more about the world and our place in it.
