A longtime Democratic strategist and current Democratic member of Congress have both called out left-wing โSquadโ member Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) following the resurfacing of a 2018 video where she disparaged white men.
In addition, former Bill Clinton strategist James Carville and Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) also believe that Omar and other Democrats need to start praising the country, like President Donald Trump and his โAmerica Firstโ style of politics.
โDemocrats need to start every speech by saying, โAmerica is the greatest country in the world,’โ Khanna, who has been roundly critical of Trump and his MAGA movement, said on Thursdayโs Politics War Room podcast.
Carville, meanwhile, ripped Omar and her far-left wing of the party for doing more harm to Democrats than good.
โI am a liberal Democrat,โ Carville clarified, but added, โI donโt like โ letโs just say โ the progressive wing of the Democratic Party, all right? My argument is maybe these people are not worth the trouble. Maybe they should just go their own way.โ
The longtime Democratic strategist shifted his focus to Omar, referencing a resurfaced clip from aย 2018 interview in which she said while discussing jihadism: โI would say our country should be more fearful of white men across our country, because they are actually causing most of the deaths within this country.โ
She added: โAnd so if fear was the driving force of policies to keep America safe, Americans safe inside of this country, we should be profiling, monitoring, and creating policies to fight the radicalization of white men.โ
That led Carville to say, โIlhan Omar says that white males are responsible for more deaths than anybody in the country. I have no idea whether thatโs true. Why say that? Why are we trying to pโs off one-third of the people that are going to vote?โ
Carville elaborated on his point regarding the isolation of voters by analyzing the demographics of the electorate, questioning why progressives are trying to antagonize โabout a third of the electorate.โ
โWhen is somebody going to say: โWhy donโt you people just learn to shut up about this, youโre not doing anybody any good,โโ he asked.
Khanna alsoย offeredย his own view on Omarโs comments regarding white Americans, saying he disagrees with her on a โsubstantive level.โ
โI think that white Americans have done enormous things for our freedom,โ Khanna asserted. โI mean, who are the people who scaled the cliffs of Normandy? Many of them were white men.โ
The California Dem added: โItโs not just I disagree politically, I disagree substantively. This is a great country. It is a kind country. It is a decent country.โ
The Indian-American lawmaker reflected on his own familyโs journey to the United States, praising the opportunities they found and the success they achievedโsomething he said โwould not be possible anywhere else.โ
He then suggested that Democrats begin all of their speeches by singing the praises of America.
โWhat Democrats should start every speech with is: โAmerica is the greatest country in the world. Itโs the most open country in the world. Itโs the least racist country in the world, and we want to make it better,’โ Khanna asserted.
โTell the caucus thereโs no future in us running against white men,โ Carville replied.
In previous comments to Fox News Digital about the 2018 clip, Omar essentially doubled down on her anti-white comments by quoting a report from a left-wing group: โIn this nearly 8yr old clip, I am referring to the rise of white nationalism in an annual report issued by the Anti-Defamation League that said white supremacists were responsible for 78 percent of โextremist-related murders,’โ Omar said.
She then fell back on her notorious anti-Semitism with a false claim: โPS you should look up what โgenocidalโ actually means when youโre actively supporting a genocide taking place in Gaza.โ
