In the episode of her talk program titled “The Drew Barrymore Show” that aired on February 23, Drew Barrymore disclosed some extremely exciting news. On this episode, she said that she and her longtime working partner Adam Sandler are looking into the possibility of doing another movie together.
Throughout the course of the program, Barrymore discussed with her cohost Ross Matthews how Tom Hanks and Robin Wright, who previously worked together in the film “Forrest Gump,” are planning to collaborate on a new movie.
According to Matthews, “And one of my favorite things is when actors or actresses from previous films work together again on a new project. I’m going to ask you this question on everyone’s behalf: “Well, I’m going to ask you, Adam Sandler, are we doing another one?””
Barrymore disclosed his involvement, “There is no question that we are discussing it. For sure.” It was described by Matthews as “shattering news.”
“Are people really talking to one other?” he queried. “I see.” Barrymore validated that there are talks to be had in order to locate the item. “We are constantly, and I believe it to be extremely screenplay story particular, and yes, we are actively pursuing the proper thing. I’m going to leave it at that for now.”
In the film “The Wedding Singer” from 1998, Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler made their on-screen debut as a loving couple. The film has maintained its status as a classic and is a pivotal work in the careers of both of them.
They rekindled their partnership in 2004 for the film “50 First Dates,” and then, ten years later, they worked again on another film titled “Blended,” in which they played the roles of two single parents who eventually fell in love with one another.
There is definitely not enough recognition given to Barrymore for her status as a rom-com queen.
In addition to the films she has made with Adam Sandler, some of her most well-known romantic comedies are “Never Been Kissed,” “Fever Pitch,” “Ever After,” a retelling of the Cinderella story, and “Music & Lyrics,” an underappreciated musical treat.
She also had a role in the romantic comedy “He’s Just Not That Into You,” which included a larger cast.
Since the premiere of her talk show in the year 2020, Barrymore has taken an indefinite break from acting.
This break was well-deserved given that Barrymore began her acting career when she was only 5 years old; however, a Sandler-Barrymore romantic comedy would be the ideal way for her to get back into the game.
