Biden’s doctors say he’s fine. But is he really?

President Joe Biden’s recent mix-up of Ukraine and Iraq raised concerns about his health. The 80-year-old leader was seen with face marks from a sleep apnea mask, revealing a history of the condition. Sleep apnea can lead to cognitive decline and cardiovascular issues due to interrupted breathing during sleep. Geneticist Tony Pemberton explained, “Sleep apnea is certainly a risk factor for cognitive decline.”

Biden’s frequent coughing, attributed to gastroesophageal reflux after meals, is another concern. This acid reflux was noted in his 2021 physical examination, but it’s not necessarily age-related. Dr. Suhail Hussain, a private GP, emphasized that uncontrolled acid reflux can lead to gastric irritation and ulcers.

Additionally, Biden recently underwent treatment for basal cell carcinoma, a slow-growing skin cancer. Doctors removed a lesion from his chest, with no anticipated long-term issues. In the light of these health concerns, Biden remains the oldest person to hold the office, and his well-being is a matter of global interest and scrutiny.
