Last week, Atlantic City hosted the second night of preliminary competition for Miss America.
With the exception of Kelley Johnson, nearly every contender showed up onstage decked out in exquisite costumes to showcase their musical, dancing, and singing prowess for the talent competition.
Colorado Miss Kelly decided to provide a unique monologue about her experience as a nurse tending to an elderly patient with Alzheimer’s.
When she appeared onstage wearing her nursing scrubs, many were undoubtedly taken aback. However, when she’s done, the outcomes are heartwarming and astounding.
Whether Kelly wins the ultimate crowns or not, I think she has already won.
In 2015, Kelly earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand View University.
She is currently employed as a registered nurse and graduated as the valedictorian of her nursing class.
