During a recent show in Cincinnati, OH, country star Jason Aldean fired back against the accusations of racism that have been hurled his way by a left furious with his anti-crime, anti-rioting song, “Try That in a Small Town.”
In what should be an inspiration to many conservatives, Aldean refused to apologize to the left or bow down to criticism, instead standing up for the song and the country.
Speaking to the thousands of concert attendees in Cincinnati, Aldean said, “It’s been a long-a** week,” an obvious reference to the hate and criticism directed his way for his chart-topping song. He said, “Well, I gotta tell you guys, man, it’s been a long a** week. It’s been a long week and I’ve seen a lot of stuff. I’ve seen a lot of stuff suggesting I’m this, suggesting I’m that.”
Continuing as the crowd roared with applause for him and let out a cacophony of booing directed toward his opponents, Aldean described himself as a proud American and said that those who have criticized his song are wrong.
In his words: “Hey, here’s a thing. Here’s a thing, here’s one thing I feel. I feel like everybody’s entitled to their opinion. You can think something all you want to, doesn’t mean it’s true. What I am is a proud American. I am proud to be from here.”
Continuing, he said that the loves America and wants to see it restored to being the nation it was before the left took a sledgehammer to its foundations, saying, “I love our country. I want to see it restored to what it once was before all this bull**** started happening to us.” He added, “I love my country. I love my family and I will do anything to protect that and I can tell you that.”
The crowd loved that, with its booing and jeering directed toward his critics turning to a deafening chant of “USA! USA! USA!” as he spoke about the country being restored.
People praised Aldean in the comments, cheered by his strong defense of the America that used to exist and his refusal to back down. One, for example, said, “His music is small town America. Big fan for yrs. One of my favorite songs of his is Fly Over States. He speaks for ppl who are the heart and soul of this country but are the least powerful, disregarded, and forgotten. Until they push us.”’
Another said, “Was never a fan of Jason, not because I don’t like country, just feed up with even country singers going woke. I am 100% a fan now!” Replying to that, another commenter said, “I love country music. I didn’t like when some went Woke. But I didn’t give up, I figured they would smarten up and they did. Just like most of Americans have finely woke up.”
