On the other hand, Nikki began having severe health problems before she was a year old and was diagnosed with strabismus. Nikki was eventually diagnosed with Aspergerโ€™s Syndrome, which the family was unaware of. Dicksonโ€™s personal and professional life suffered as a result, and she opted to reduce her job hours so she could fully care for Nikki.

Regrettably, Nikkiโ€™s illness worsened over the last ten years, and she committed suicide in 2007 at 40. Dickinson spoke with CBS in 2019 about her time with her daughter, calling her a โ€œbeautiful, great gift.โ€
